LICENSING AGREEMENT
You may use RAINBOW-LAND for a 14 DAY TRIAL PERIOD. Should you continue
to use it, you MUST register it. You will then be provided with the
latest release of RAINBOW-LAND and qualify for discounts of fifty percent
or more on future versions. You must print the form provided in
REGISTER.DOC, fill it out, and mail it in to complete your registration.
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS
To run RAINBOW-LAND you must have a PC-compatible computer system with a
video card and monitor capable of producing 256 colors in a resolution of
320X200 (which includes most MCGA, VGA, and SVGA systems.) This mode was
chosen because of its speed, overall brightness, and commonality among
systems.
OVERVIEW
RAINBOW-LAND is an interactive program that lets people (and animals) of all
ages create colorful animated art simply by pressing buttons. The numbered
keys, <0> through <9> and <Shift>+ <0> through <9>, are assigned to various
geometric patterns that reproduce over and over on the screen. The lettered
keys, <A> through <O> let you change drawing colors, while pressing <R>
(the "rainbow" key) cycles automatically through a rainbow of up to 256 colors. To quit---press <Esc>.
The easiest way to learn is to try all the keys. For example, you might
press <5> to start the geometric pattern called RECTANGLES, then try pressing
various lettered keys to change drawing colors. If you get tired of solid
colors, press <R> and the computer will start cycling through a rainbow of
colors.
Pressing the <SPACE BAR> lets you freeze the screen and <Enter> clears the
screen. Pressing <S> makes the screen background either red or black. For
special effects, pressing <F5> through <F8> changes the animation speed,
while <F4> toggles random palette mode ---which cycles through tens of
thousands of subtle color shades.
If you want the computer to create designs for you then you can press <F3>,
which puts RAINBOW-LAND in Demo mode. <F2> displays program information and,
most importantly, pressing <F1> brings up the HELP screens that explain what
all these keys do!
The bottom line in RAINBOW-LAND is fun. Anything your imagination allows
is O.K. Remember, if you become a registered owner then you will automatically
be updated to the latest version of RAINBOW-LAND.
The main reason I keep working on and improving RAINBOW-LAND is because of
you. Send me your comments and experiences and maybe they'll be incorporated
in the next version.
Until then...
